Catherine Igathe

Catherine Igathe is Managing Director and Founder of Fit2Lead Global Ltd, a consulting firm designing and delivering solutions in Leadership, Personal Growth and Corporate Strategy.

She has over 24 years working experience, 10 of which has been in the C-Suite level. She is the immediate former Chief Executive Officer, Jubilee General insurance Limited, a subsidiarity of the largest insurance group in Kenya. Previously, she worked as the Managing Director of AIG Kenya Insurance Co. Ltd until 2019 having served in various capacities for 17 years.

Her exposure working in a multinational company and with global teams has earned her strong leadership skills as well as experience in distribution & Change management, strategic planning and building strong teams. She has overseen several successful organizational change initiatives including brand change and acquisition transaction.

Catherine’s Igathe board directorship experience has further deepened her exposure to the leadership and corporate strategy space.  She is currently serving in the following Boards.

• GenAfrica Kenya Investment Ltd – Non- Executive Director & Chair, Audit Committee
• Centum Investment Co. Plc – Non- Executive Director & Chair, Risk Committee
• GA Insurance Limited – Non-Executive Director

She has a passion in developing young people to take up leadership roles and has made a significant impact in professionalizing the insurance sales force over the years through training and mentorship. Her leadership journey has enabled her to touch the lives of over 500 young people through this initiative, who have built successful businesses, become financially independent and contributors to the country’s economy. She has coached and trained aspiring young leaders to take up seats in the c-suite leadership space.

Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from United States International University. She has attended several Executive Management and Leadership programs including Advanced Management Program at Strathmore Business School, Lagos Business School, IESE Business School (Spain) & Gordon Institute of Business Science – University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Catherine Igathe is a John Maxwell Certified Executive Director and Independent certified Coach, Teacher and Speaker, offering workshops, seminars, keynote speaking, and coaching in personal and professional growth, through study and practical application of John’s proven leadership methods. She is also an Executive Coach and member of the International Coaching Federation. She is also a GENOS Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner.

She has recently been certified and appointed as The Alpha Group Regional Director for Kenya to act as an SME Coach through Peer-to-Peer Advisory boards.  Catherine also serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Strathmore Business School to facilitate Executive programs in the areas of Leadership, Governance and Strategy.

She is happily married and blessed with 3 Children, One Boy and two Girls.
